Dieses Gemälde aus der königlichen Sammlung „Juliana von den Niederlanden“ ist eine Zweitfassung in gleicher Größe, wie das Gemälde von 1844 im Museum Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf. Dieses Thema „Hagar in der Wüste“ wurde von mehreren der nazarener Schule zuzurechnenden Malern aufgegriffen, insbesondere auch von dem Maler Karl Gottfried Eybe, dessen Gemälde sich auch in dieser Sammlung befindet.

Original canvas. No retouches visible under U.V. light. Two pinpricks of paintloss in the upper part of the sky and some very minor scratches near the lower left edge. Otherwise in good condition.
